Fortune Cookies is Orange County's first Chinese restaurant that offers healthy Chinese cuisine. Fortune cookies prepares a variety of delicious, low-fat, heart-healthy, portion controlled Chinese entrees. Chinese cuisine has long been recognized as high in fat, sodium, cholesterol and monosodium glutamate (MSG). Fortune Cookies understands that people today are much more aware and concerned about the nutrion of food and their health. Fortune Cookies stands apart from other Chinese restaurants by offering delicious and healthy Chinese entrees. Some of the steps we have taken to improve the nutrition of our entrees include:
- No MSG
- Using Canola oil, a healthy unsaturated fat, in place of other vegetable oils
- Using only 100% white meat chicken in our entrees
- Offering a lean cut of USDA Grade A beef which is lower in total fat and calories compared to other Grade beef
- We use only egg white noodles
- Listing calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat grams and fiber for most entrees
- The diabetic exchange will be replaced with carbohydrate portions
- Modification to any entree to meet your dietary request
- Use sugar substitute to help manage calories & carbohydrates
- Use reduced-fat condiments to lower total and saturated fat
Fortune Cookies' menu was prepared using the recipes passed down from a generation ago. The original chef was a man who loved to cook and spent most of his life dreaming up ways to improve Chinese cuisine for everyone. In keeping up with that family tradition, we at Fortune Cookies wanted to make the food not only great tasting, but good for your health.
